1991: Senior Season
Janet Kruse capped her decorated career earning All-American honors both on and off the court for the third consecutive year. A first-team AVCA All-America for the third consecutive season, Kruse played in 24 matches and 76 games during her final year as a Husker. She had a .294 hitting percentage for the season and ranked fifth in the Big Eight. Kruse logged 267 kills and 17 service aces in 1991. She earned All-Big Eight honors for a third-straight season. A standout in the classroom, Kruse was named the CoSIDA Academic All-American-of-the-Year honors in volleyball for the second straight season, while claiming CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades for the third consecutive year.
1990: Junior Season
A first-team AVCA All-American for the second straight season, Kruse became the first Husker to ever reach the 1,000-kill plateau as a junior, registering 395 kills and ending her third season at 1,002. She had a .314 hitting percentage for the season, including .361 in Big Eight Conference action. She earned her second-straight All-Big Eight selection and was voted the MVP of the conference tournament. She had a season-high 25 kills against Kansas and 21 matches with 10 or more kills. Off the court, Kruse was named the CoSIDA Academic All-American-of-the-Year in volleyball for the first time, while earning first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
1989: Sophomore Season
Her 463 kills ranked second on the team and fifth on the NU all-time season list. She led the team with 298 digs, which was the seventh-best total ever by a Husker. Kruse ranked second on the team with 140 blocks and third with a .330 hitting percentage. She registered Nebraska's second-best single-match kill total with 33 against Bowling Green, while totaling 54 in five matches in the 1989 NCAA Tournament. Along with her AVCA All-America and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, she earned first-team All-Big Eight, Big Eight All-Tournament, academic All-Big Eight, AVCA All-Region and NCAA Mideast Region all-tournament selections.
1988: Freshman Season
Kruse played in 93 games for the Huskers and recorded 144 kills and a .166 hitting percentage. She had a personal best of 18 kills against NCAA champion Texas. Kruse finished the season with 13 service aces, 43 blocks and 57 digs. She posted a perfect 4.0 GPA as a freshman, earning Big Eight Academic Honor Roll selection.
