1987: Senior Season
In her final season as a Husker, Kathi Deboer earned AVCA Midwest All-Region team and GTE Academic All-America honors. DeBoer led the Huskers with 529 kills, while hitting .298, making 147 errors. DeBoer also led the team defensively, notching 372 digs in 1987. In a five-game victory against Minnesota, she totalled 28 kills, setting the season-high for the Huskers. DeBoer had one of her best defensive games in a five-game victory against Illinois, accumulating 24 digs in the effort. DeBoer was named to the all-tournament team in all four Nebraska regular-season tournaments, earning MVP honors twice. DeBoer was also named to the Big Eight All-Tournament team, earning MVP honors for a third time in her final season. Starring in the classroom, DeBoer earned Big Eight All-Academic and GTE/CoSIDA District VII All-Academic honors.
1986: Junior Season
In her junior season, DeBoer posted a 3.66 kill-per-game average and hit .322. A two-time second-team All-Big Eight performer and two-time Big Eight All-Tournament selection, she also earned a berth on the 1987 NCAA Mideast Regional All-Tournament team, when she recorded 30 kills in the semifinal victory over Penn State and added 10 more in the title match win over Illinois. She had a personal best of 32 kills, registered against Nebraska-Omaha last season, which ranks No. 2 on the Nebraska all-time match list. Her 421 kills during last season is No. 2 on the NU all-time season list. DeBoer is an outstanding student, earning GTE District VII All-Academic, Big Eight Conference All-Academic, and Big Eight Academic Honor Roll honors.
1985: Sophomore Season
In DeBoer's first season as a Husker starter she earned second-team All-Big Eight and was named to the Big Eight All-Tournament team. DeBoer was selected as Big Eight Player-of-the-Week on Nov. 12 after recording 29 kills on 40 attacks for a .510 hitting percentage in wins over Iowa State and Missouri. DeBoer registered .344 kills for a 3.67 per game average and had a .298 hitting efficiency. An outstanding student-athlete, DeBoer was named to the Big Eight All-Academic team and was also voted to the GTE District VII All-Academic team.
1984: Freshman Season
DeBoer served as a key reserve last season as a freshman. DeBoer had 11 kills in the Big Eight Tournament and average 1.4 kills per game in 1984. An excellent student, DeBoer posted a 3.4 grade point average last year just missing the Big Eight Honor Roll (3.5 min).
