Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll Fall: (2010)


2011 (Sophomore)
Aaron Engel notched a season-best 51.71 in the 400 meters at the Holiday Inn Invitational... competed in two meets during the outdoor track and field season... produced a season-best 22.34 in the 200 meters at the Nebraska Open, placing sixth... recorded a 50.78 in the 400 meters at the Nebraska Open to finish second.

2010 (Redshirt Freshman)
Engel competed in his first meet as a Husker at the Holiday Inn Invitational, running a 50.66 in the 400 meters... ran a season-best 50.23 at the Nebraska Tune-Up... ran the 400 meters twice outdoors at the Nebraska Invitational (50.30) and Nebraska Open (49.50).

2009 (Freshman)
Engel redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska... competed three times as an unattached athlete during the indoor season... ran a personal-best time of 50.10 in the 400 meters at the Nebraska Tune-Up... competed once during the outdoor season at the Nebraska Invitational in the 400 with a time of 50.19.

Before Nebraska (Smoky Hill HS)

Engel came to Nebraska as a five-time qualifier under Coach Mark Cooper for the Colorado State Track and Field meet in Class 5A, the largest class in Colorado...  qualified for five events as a sophomore and competed in four at the 2006 state meet... ran the 4x100 (second), 4x200 (fourth), 4x400 (fifth) and 200 meters (ninth) at the state meet... helped the Buffs tie for third in the team standings... did not compete as a junior or senior due to a hamstring injury... competed at the 2006 USATF National Junior Olympics in El Paso, Texas, finishing fifth in the 200 meters (22.50A) and fourth in the 400 meters (50.04A) while competing for the M’Za Greyhounds club team under Coach Tiyo Smith.

Parents are Jay and JoAnn Engel... born Aug. 1, 1989... major is electrical engineering.
