2005: Amber Curtis competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional in the discus in her first year of competition, finishing 20th (147-0)... finished 14th at the Big 12 outdoor meet with a toss of 146-7, while also earning 12th place in the shot put (44-10 1/4)... recorded back-to-back regional qualifying marks in the discus at the Drake Relays, claiming eighth place with a spin of 160-0, and Nebraska Invitational, where she earned sixth with a mark of 162-2... claimed second in the discus at the Emporia State Relays with a personal-best throw of 167-10.. competed in the shot put at the Big 12 indoor meet, finishing 10th with a career-long toss of 45-10 1/2... threw the shot put 45-0 1/2 to take ninth place at the Husker Invitational... opened her college career with a sixth-place finish in the shot put (43-7 1/4) and eighth-place finish in the weight throw (44-11 1/2) at the Holiday Inn Invitational. 2004: Curtis redshirted the entire 2004 season... competed unattached only during the outdoor season at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight... won the discus (153-1) and set a personal best in the hammer throw (146-9). High School: Curtis was a four-time state champion in the discus (2000-03) and a two-time shot put champion (2002-03) at the Wisconsin Division 2 state championship... set Wisconsin Division 2 state meet record of 153-11 in the discus in 2002... was seventh in the discus at the 2003 Golden West Track and Field Invitational in Sacramento, Calif., with a toss of 142-3... led the state in the discus four consecutive seasons... was a member of the National Honor Society.
