Freshman (2023-24)
Anastasia Tichy excelled in the freestyle and butterfly for the Huskers during the 2023-24 season. At the Big Ten Championships, she qualified for the B final of the 200 butterfly with a prelim time of 1:59.35. Tichy went on for a 15th-place finish with a time of 1:59.85. She added a 24th-place finish in the C final of the 100 butterfly (54.38). 

At the mid-season Hawkeye Invitational, Tichy took first in the 200 butterfly and hit the NCAA B Standard with a time of 1:58.87. She added another B cut in the event against Rutgers (Feb. 2) with a career-best time of 1:58.20. Tichy added a fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly at the Hawkeye Invite (54.59). She capped off her season with nine top-three finishes, including four titles.

Before Nebraska
Tichy attended Sport und musisches Realgymnasium for high school in her hometown of Salzburg, Austria. She competed in the 2022 LEN European Championships in the 200 fly (2:14.59, 14th) and 100 fly (1:01.74, 28th). She also participated in the 2022 FINA World Cup stop, where she placed 12th in the 200 fly (2:12.48) and 55th in the 200 free (2:05.26). Both of those times were personal bests in their respective events.

Personal
The daughter of Peter Tichy and Natalia Sheremetyeva, Anastasia Tichy hails from Salzburg, Austria, and was born on June 1, 2004. Tichy has one sister, Alexandra. She is majoring in Business Administration at Nebraska and enjoys spending time with friends and family. Tichy chose Nebraska because “it felt like the best fit for me and it can challenge me both academically and athletically. The coaches and girls were very welcoming and made my decision easy.”
