Karla Ahl Season 1995-96

Honors & Awards 

• Two Letters (1995, 1996)

Sophomore (1995-96)
At the Big Eight Championships, Karla Ahl capped a 10th-place finish in the 200 back (2:09.52) and 11th-place in the 100 back (1:00.69). Ahl contributed to a Big Eight Conference Championship title. 

Freshman (1994-95)
Ahl recorded season-best times in the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 1:00.99 and 2:09.77, respectively. She was honored as a Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight Honor Roll recipient. 

Before Nebraska 
Hailing from Omaha, Neb., Ahl was a four-year letterwinner and the most valuable female swimmer for four years in high school. She additionally held three school records at Ralston High School. She finished first in the 500 free and second in the 100 back at the 1992 Nebraska state meet. 

Personal
Karla was born on Oct. 6, 1975, to Ken and Laura Ahl. She has a brother, Derek, who was a member of the men's swim team. Karla studied international business.
