2019-20 (Sophomore)
Alexandra Ellis swam exhibition for the Huskers in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke in the dual win over Iowa State. She wrapped up her competitive appearances at the Mizzou Invite. She set career bests in the 50 (26.84) and the 100 freestyles (58.89) in Columbia. She earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2019.

2018-19 (Freshman)
Ellis joined the Huskers as a walk-on, and the Omahan set four career bests in individual or relay events. Ellis had a strong performance against Kansas, swimming to career bests in the 50 free, 100 free and 400 free relay. Her fourth career best came at a home dual against Northern Iowa in the 200 free relay. A standout in the classroom, Ellis earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2018-19.

Previous
Ellis was a team captain and four-time letterwinner at Millard South High School. She competed at Metros for four years and placed in the top-10 finals in both individual and relay events for three years. The 2017-18 Greater Omaha Sports Committee Scholar Athlete of the Year competed at state on Millard South relay teams in both 2017 and 2018. She was named a Speedo/NICSA Scholastic All-American in 2017- 18 and won the 2017 Rotary Youth Leadership Award. She was a three-time NCPA Academic All-State selection. Ellis was a D2 Summer Championship medalist for Millard Aquatic Club.

Personal 
The daughter of Alicia Nordberg and Brian Ellis, Alexandra was born Feb. 8, 2000 in Omaha, Neb. Alexandra is majoring in elementary education and is a three-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She chose Nebraska over Kansas, Iowa, Omaha and Northwest Missouri State.
