2017 (Senior)
Coleman Tokar appeared on high bar for the Huskers in his final season at Nebraska. He appeared five times in 2017, notching a season-best score of 13.35 against Oklahoma on Jan. 21. Tokar also supported the Huskers at the NCAA Championships where the team earned a spot in the finals for the first time since 1999. NU finished sixth marking its best finish since 1999. He was rewarded for his effort in the gym by his teammates and coaches by receiving the Perseverance Award at the annual end-of-the-year banquet.
Outside of the gym, Tokar made an impact for Nebraska. He was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the first time as a senior. He also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters, before claiming his bachelor's degree in May of 2017. In the community, Tokar was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2017 as well.
2016 (Junior)
Tokar provided depth in the floor and high bar lineups, but only competed once for the Huskers as a junior. The Minneapolis, Minn., native posted a career-high score on floor (14.80) in his hometown when the team competed against Minnesota on Jan. 30.
Tokar was a difference maker in the classroom, earning a spot on the Nebraska-Scholar Athlete Honor Roll for the fifth time in fall 2015.
In the community, Tokar was an active volunteer and earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2016.
Tokar also was one of two Husker men's gymnasts to participate in the Nebraska Life Skills Service Trip to the Dominican Republic in May 2016.
2015 (Sophomore)
Tokar saw significant action as a sophomore, playing some important roles across several events for the Huskers in 2015. Tokar consistently contributed routines on floor and high bar throughout the season, while also filling in some vital spots on rings and vault.
Tokar competed in every regular-season meet for NU and in the postseason. On floor, he earned a season-best 14.75 at Illinois March 15. He also grabbed career highs on rings (13.85) and high bar (14.00) against Minnesota and UIC on Feb. 7.
In the classroom, Tokar earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters of 2014-15.
2014 (Freshman)
Tokar competed in two regular-season meets as a redshirt freshman before sustaining a season-ending injury. Tokar set personal bests during his two-meet stretch, including a 14.30 at the Huskers' home opener at the Devaney Center on Jan. 25, and a 14.35 on vault at the Rocky Mountain Open.
In the classroom, he added a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2014.
2013 (Redshirt)
Tokar redshirted in his first season at Nebraska, while working to make the adjustment to collegiate gymnastics. He also worked diligently on improving his skills on pommel horse, parallel bars and vault.
He earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2012.
Before Nebraska
Tokar trained with the North Shore Gymnastics Association under the direction of head coach Dale Bulivant. Tokar competed at Junior Olympic Nationals, as well as on his regional team. He graduated from Orono High School in 2012.
Personal
Coleman is the son of Rick and Nancy Tokar. Coleman was born on April 30, 1994 in Minneapolis, Minn. He has one brother, Cooper. Coleman graduated in May 2017 with a degree in mathematics education. He was a seven-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
Outside of gymnastics, Tokar enjoyed skiing, playing the guitar, piano and French horn. He chose Nebraska over Minnesota.
