Big 12 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll
2006 (Senior): Landed a score of 9.10 on the vault at the Rocky Mountain Open on Jan. 13 to advance to the event finals for the first time in his career ? Finished second on the vault (9.25) against Iowa on Feb. 12 and set a season-high pommel horse score of 8.45 ? Earned his first career event title with a win on the vault (9.40) at Minnesota on Feb. 18 ? Continued to dominate the vault with a career-high score of 9.45 for another win against Oklahoma on March 5 ? Set a career-high floor score of 8.80 against Air Force on March 19 and finished third on the pommel horse (8.10) ? Climbed as high as seventh nationally in the GymInfo polls on the vault.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
2005 (Junior): After spending his sophomore season as a redshirt, Moore returned to the pommel horse for Nebraska in 2005 and quickly helped the Huskers develop the best pommel squad they had seen in several seasons ? Steadily improved his scores on the pommel horse over the course of the year and boasted a career best mark of 8.85, which he earned against Ohio State on February 18.
2004 (Sophomore): Battling injuries throughout the season, <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Moore only competed once during 2004, the Rocky Mountain Open ? Put up a 7.00 on the pommel horse at the RMO for a career high in that event.
2003 (Freshman): Competed in three meets in 2003, including the NCAA Championships ? Participated on the floor exercise and pommel horse throughout the year ? Competed on the floor exercise and the pommel horse in his first collegiate meet at the Rocky Mountain Open receiving scores of 8.00 and 6.45, respectively ? Competed at home against Air Force on March 14, scoring a career-high 8.15 on the floor exercise ? Was one of five Huskers named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Fall of 2003 ? Tied his career-high mark of 8.15 on the floor exercise at the NCAA Championships.
Prior: A graduate of BenDavisHigh School, Moore competed for Coach Charles Dunn at Sharp’s GymnasticsAcademy in Indianapolis, Ind. ? Was the vault and floor champion at the Indiana state championships ? Competed at the Junior Olympics during both his junior and senior years.
Personal: Nicholas is the son of Kevin and Melissa Moore of Indianapolis, Ind. ? Has one brother Shawn, 23, who is a senior elite gymnast in power tumbling, and one sister, Alyssia, 20 ? Nick is a history major at Nebraska.
