2007 Outlook: Ian Campbell is one of two transfer students to join the Huskers in 2007. <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Campbell comes to Nebraska with an extensive amount of junior and collegiate training, including spending time at the ColoradoTrainingCenter, and is anticipated to make the all-around lineup early in the season. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

“Ian could be one of our all-arounders this year.  I’d like to think that we’re going to put four all-arounders in an event and then two specialists, and I’d like to think that he’s going to be one of those all-arounders,” Head Coach Francis Allen said.

Campbell could help Nebraska on the still rings, an event the Huskers have struggled in the most during recent years. This season, Allen has brought in several strong ringmen, including Campbell, with the hopes of building the event into a stronghold for the Huskers.

Prior: Campbell worked out at the prestigious ColoradoTrainingCenter under coach Vitaly Marinitch during his club career. He was a teammate to current NU freshman Kyle Shanahan.  Campbell competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals in 2002, earning first-team academic All-America honors.

After graduating from PalmerHigh School in 2004, Campbell attended ArizonaState before transferring to Nebraska in the fall of 2006.

Personal: Campbell was born March 13, 1986 to Paul and Debborah Campbell and has one sister, Brooki, 25 and one brother, Travor, 27.  Ian is an international business major at Nebraska.
