Senior (2014-15)
Siwa played in seven tournaments in 2014-15, earning a 77.32 stroke average over 22 rounds. Siwa finished the fall season by firing a career-best 217 at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, notching a season-best tie for 30th place. He also led the Huskers at the Big Ten Match Play Championship going 1-1-1.
Junior (2013-14)
Siwa played in seven tournaments, compiling a 76.39 stroke average over 18 rounds in 2013-14. At the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational during the fall season, Siwa opened with back-to-back 71s, which marked his best 18-hole score of the season. He matched it in his first stroke-play showing of the spring at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. Siwa finished the tournament with his best 54-hole score of the season at 5-over-par 221. His best finish of the season was 18th place, which came at the Oak Hill Intercollegiate.
Before Nebraska
Siwa joined the Huskers after a summer that included a seventh-place finish at the Nebraska Amateur and a third-place finish at the Metro Omaha Championship. Prior to coming to Nebraska, Siwa played baseball at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Ariz.
Siwa concluded a successful high school baseball career at Omaha Burke, earning first-team All-Nebraska and first-team Super-State selections in 2010. Siwa, who was primarily an infielder, led the state with a .529 batting average and 55 RBI’s as a senior.
Personal
Mike is the son of Stacey and Ron Siwa and has one sister, Katie. Mike was born on June 28, 1992, and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Nebraska in May 2014. He is a four-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2014.
