After his senior season, Sundberg was named honorary co-captain of the Lincoln Journal Star All-City team along with Coatman.
Sundberg also enjoyed success as an amateur golfer. Sundberg qualified for the 2006 Optimist International Golf Championships, as well as the National Big I Golf Classic. In 2005, Sundberg was a quarterfinalist in the State Junior Match Play Tournament.
