Senior (2006-07)
Ryan Lenahan eased into his senior year with appearances at all five fall tournaments, and the Michigan native looks to have his strongest season in his final showing at Nebraska. Lenahan’s fall stroke average through 13 rounds was 76.92, bringing his career stroke average down to 77.61. He posted three top-50 finishes while securing three rounds at or under 73.
“Ryan continues to make drastic improvements as he learns more about his natural tendencies as a golfer, and that has allowed him to work his way into the top of our lineup on a consistent basis,” Nebraska Head Coach Bill Spangler said. “We will continue to rely on Ryan as a consistent playmaker in the spring.”
Junior (2005-06)
Lenahan improved his season stroke average by more than a stroke as a junior to finish with a 75.03 average and earned a trip to NCAA Regionals. After securing four rounds of golf at or under par in the entire 2004-05 season, Lenahan matched that total in the 2005 fall season alone. For the second year in a row, Lenahan opened the fall season with a bang, snagging a sixth place tie at the Fairway Club Invitational. His final round at the Fairway Club also matched his career low of 69. Lenahan’s fall included four rounds at or under par and one tournament at par, as he earned one spot in the top 10 and one in the top 25. His best score of the fall season came in the final tournament, when he shot an even-par 216 (71-71-74) at the Southern Miss/Sam Hall Intercollegiate, placing second in the Husker lineup for the second time in the fall. Lenahan’s 223 (73-75-75) at the Memphis Intercollegiate Golf Classic also filled the second spot on the leaderboard for the Huskers. He finished the season with seven top-50 finishes and capped the spring season by earning a spot to the NCAA Regional in a team qualifying round, finishing in a tie for 120th.
Sophomore (2004-05)
Lenahan enjoyed a solid sophomore season, posting two top-10 and three top-25 finishes. He concluded the season with a 75.83 stroke average. He opened the fall by finishing strong in a tie for sixth place at the Fairway Club Invite and then posted a career-best fifth place at the Branson Creek Invitational in the spring, where he also posted a career-low 69.
