Freshman (2025-26)
A four-time Nebraska Class A All-State and Super-State selection, Thomas Bryson joined the Huskers after a decorated high school and junior career in Nebraska. The Lincoln Southeast product won the Class A state title and was named the Nebraska Junior Amateur of the Year as a freshman in 2022. He closed his high school career with a seventh-place individual finish to earn Class A all-state honors for the third time. He helped the Knights to a third-place team finish in 2025.
He captured the 2025 Class A-1 District title as a senior by firing a 71 at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln to lead Lincoln Southeast to the district title.
Bryson made his collegiate debut by playing as an individual at the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha (Sept. 15-16). He opened with a 70 (-2) before adding a 69 (-3) in the second round on the 7,079-yard layout at Shadow Ridge Country Club. He closed with a 76 to finish in a tie for 16th at 215 (-1).
He competed as an individual outside Nebraska's lineup at the Git-R-Done Invitational (Sept. 22-23) and earned a second consecutive top-20 finish by tying for 18th at 214 (+1), including a career-best 67 (-4) in the second round on the 7,077-yard layout at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln. Bryson opened with a 72 (+1), before closing with a 75 (+4) on a 7,102-yard layout in the final round.
Bryson owns a 71.50 stroke average over six rounds in 2025-26.
Before Nebraska
Bryson won the 2022 Nebraska Class A state championship at Lincoln Southeast. He finished with a 141 (-3) over two rounds to claim the state title as a freshman for the Knights.
Bryson was also the 2022 Nebraska Junior Amateur Golfer of the Year.
After a fifth-place individual finish at the Class A state high school championship as a sophomore, Bryson was the runner-up at the 2023 Nebraska Junior Match Play at the Wayne Country Club. He also won the Arizona Biltmore HJGT and he was the Colorado Junior AJGA champion in the summer of 2023, while representing the state in the annual Kansas-Nebraska Junior Cup matches for the second consecutive year.
As a junior in 2024, Bryson was a Class A All-State selection. He added all-state honors as a senior, while also claiming honorable-mention all-state accolades in tennis in both 2024 and 2025.
In the summer of 2021, prior to his freshman season at Southeast, Bryson won the Nebraska Junior PGA title with a two-round total of 134 (-10) at Stone Creek Golf Club. In the summer of 2022, he was the low Junior at the Nebraska Amateur at Firethorn Golf Club, including the low round of the championship with a 66 (-5). He finished in a tie for fifth overall. He also tied for fifth at the Nebraska Junior Amateur in Beatrice.
Personal
Thomas is the son of former Husker men’s golfer Kevin Bryson (2000-03) and women’s golfer Beth Anne (Cherry) Bryson (2002-05). Thomas has not declared a major at Nebraska.
