Senior (2013-14)
Matt Record played in 10 of Nebraska's 12 tournaments, and led the team in four of its six spring events. He earned three top-20 finishes, which also led the team. His first was a 13th-place finish at the Desert Shootout, where he carded three subpar rounds (70-69-69) en route to an 8-under-par 208 total. Record's best finish came one month later at the Oak Hill Intercollegiate, where he took third at 3-over-par 213. He led four Huskers who placed in the top 10 and ended up four strokes behind the individual medalist. 

Record closed the season with a tie for 20th at the Big Ten Championships. He used three rounds of 76 before a final-round 75 en route to a 15-over-par 303 total. Record completed the season with a 74.00 stroke average in 28 rounds.

Junior (2012-13)
Record played in 11 of Nebraska’s 12 events in 2012-13, earning a 74.73 stroke average in the process, good for second-best on the team. At the final tournament of the fall season, Record fired back-to-back 71s to close out the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational in a tie for eighth. He opened the spring with a perfect 3-0-0 record at the Big Ten Match Play, winning by margins of 6&4, 4&2 and 4&3.

Record added two top-10s in the spring, tying for 10th at the Denver Desert Shootout with a 1-under-par 212 total. He finished ninth at the Hawkeye Invitational and 32nd at the Big Ten Championships. Record led the Huskers in four of their 11 stroke play events during the season.

Before Nebraska
Record came to Nebraska from South Mountain Community College, where he helped the school to the 2012 NJCAA championship, finishing 10th individually. He was named the 2012 Arizona NJCAA Player of the Year, finishing the season with a 70.8 scoring average. In addition, Record earned first-team All-America honors.

Record attended Chaparral High School where his team won the state title all four years he played. As a senior, Record earned first-team all-state honors as well as Class 5A first-team all-region accolades. He tied for second at the 2010 PING Junior Open Championship.

Personal
Matt is the son of Mike and Sue Record and has one brother, Paul, 23. Matt was born on April 28, 1992, and is majoring in sociology at Nebraska.
