2026-27 (Junior, Nebraska)
Gavin Gerch returns to his hometown in his first season as a Husker in 2026-27. The junior was a member of the 2025 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team as a freshman at Creighton after tying for fourth at the BIG EAST Championship to cap his first collegiate season. He added a tie for 25th at the conference tournament as a sophomore.

A two-time Nebraska High School Super-State selection after a pair of third-place individual finishes at the Class A tournament for Lincoln Southeast, Gerch will be reunited with high school teammate Thomas Bryson on the Husker roster.

Gerch is one of five Nebraska natives on the 2026-27 roster, joining Bryson, fellow junior Jackson Benge (Omaha Westside) and freshmen Tommy Kelley (Omaha Creighton Prep) and Jaxson Hinze (York).

"Gavin will be a great addition to our program," Nebraska Head Coach Judd Cornell said. "He has some excellent golf in him that will be on full display as a Husker. He's an incredible person and has everything you want as a player. He's going to be fun to follow the next few years."

2025-26 (Sophomore, Creighton)
Gerch closed his second season with the Bluejays by tying for 25th at the BIG EAST Championship. He posted a season stroke average of 74.42 over 26 rounds.

He played in nine of Creighton's 10 tournaments on the year, including a season-best sixth-place finish at the Savannah Intercollegiate, which included an opening-round 67.

2024-25 (Freshman, Creighton)
Gerch captured a spot on the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team after tying for fourth at the conference championship. He closed the year with a 74.42 stroke average.

Before College
Gerch tied for third at the Nebraska Class A state tournament as both a junior and senior in 2023 and 2024, earning spots on the Super-State team both seasons. He matched current Husker Jackson Benge in a tie for third in 2023 after rounds of 69 and 73. He tied for third again with rounds of 71 and 73 as a senior in 2024. He was also the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament champion in both 2023 and 2024, before adding a Lincoln Public Schools championship in 2024.
