2019-20 (FRESHMAN)
Curtis played in Nebraska's first eight games before transferring, averaging 1.8 points and 0.9 rebounds per game. He saw his most extensive action against Southern on Nov. 22, setting personal bests in points (five) and rebounds (four) in 12 minutes off the bench. He also hit 3-pointers against South Dakota State, George Mason and South Florida and grabbed two rebounds in the win over SDSU on Nov. 15

BEFORE NEBRASKA
Samari Curtis was one of the most prolific scoring guards in Ohio High School history and signed with Nebraska in May of 2019. He was Ohio Mr. Basketball in 2019, averaging 33.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game for Coach Kent Anderson at Xenia High School. He shot 51 percent from the field as a senior, including 34 percent from 3-point range. He totaled nine 40-point efforts, including a 52-point performance, and had three double-doubles, including a triple-double with 28 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.  Curtis also finished eighth in state history with 224 free throws and shot 77 percent from the line, as Xenia went 13-11 despite replacing four starters from the previous season.

He finished his career with a school-record 2,109 points, breaking the previous mark by nearly 500 points. Curtis led the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) in scoring each of the past three seasons, averaging more than 30 points per game in each of his final two seasons at the school.

Curtis, who originally signed with Cincinnati in November of 2018, was a four-star selection by ESPN.com, while he also ranked among the top-200 recruits nationally by 247Sports.
As a junior, he averaged 30.4 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field en route to third-team All-Ohio accolades by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. A three-time All-GWOC selection and District 9 honoree, Curtis also garnered honorable-mention honors as a sophomore when he averaged 24.1 points per game. He played his AAU basketball for both the C2K Elite and All-Ohio Red programs. Curtis chose Nebraska over Cincinnati, Xavier and Virginia Tech.

PERSONAL
Samari Curtis was born on Dec. 15, 1999, in Xenia, Ohio. He is the son of Revanne Arrington and Nathan Curtis and has one younger brother (Marcus). Samari is a sports media and communication major at Nebraska.
