2020-21 (COVID-19 Season)
Piatkowski played in 10 games during the 2020-21 season, including seven Big Ten Conference contests, as one of two walk-ons to see action. He made his only field goal attempt of the season, hitting a 3-pointer in Nebraska’s season opening win over McNeese State, as he played a season-high four minutes. Piatkowski also 1-of-2 from the foul line in the first contest at Maryland and grabbed rebounds against North Dakota State and at fifth-ranked Illinois in limited duty.

2019-20 (Redshirt)
Piatkowski redshirted during the 2019-20 season, working extensively with the Husker scout team in practice. He did accompany the team on the Huskers' trip to Italy in August of 2019, playing in four games and hitting a 3-pointer in the opener.

Before Nebraska
Piatkowski starred at Elkhorn South High School for Coach Nolan Reilly. He totaled 775 points in his high school career, including 91 3-pointers, in three seasons on the varsity. As a senior, he averaged 18.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 23 games, highlighted by a 36-point performance against Lincoln High.

He paced Elkhorn South with 46 3-pointers and also shot 77 percent from the foul line in 2018-19. For his efforts, he was a Class A honorable-mention all-state selection and a third-team all-metro selection from the Omaha World-Herald.

Piatkowski averaged 14.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game as a junior. He topped ESHS with 45 3-pointers and shot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range while also shooting nearly 80 percent from the foul line. A three-year performer, Piatkowski also played AAU ball for Coach Andy King at the Omaha Sports Academy, teaming with fellow Huskers Akol Arop and Bret Porter.  Piatkowski is the third
Elkhorn South product to play at Nebraska, joining Johnny Trueblood and Justin Costello.  Piatkowski was a member of the Elkhorn South honor roll all four years and earned Academic All-State accolades by carrying a 4.0 GPA. He had some scholarship interest from lower-level schools, and chose to walk on at Nebraska over a walk-on opportunity at Grand Canyon University.
