2008-09 (Freshman)
Ferrarini practiced with the team while redshirting and did not see any competitive action for the Huskers.

Before Nebraska
Ferrarini was the only high school walk-on to join the Husker program for the 2008-09 campaign. Ferrarini came to the Huskers after playing for coach Brian Nemecek at Omaha Westside High School. Ferrarini averaged 16 points, five rebounds and three assists per game as a senior. For his efforts, Ferrarini earned honorable-mention all-state and all-metro honors from the Omaha World-Herald. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Ferrarini's top performances came against Lincoln East (31 points) and Omaha Benson (24 points) as a senior. During his junior campaign, he averaged seven points and four boards per contest while helping Westside to the first round of the state high school tournament. In summer action, Ferrarini played for the Omaha Crusaders AAU team, averaging 11 points per game to help the squad to a 21-7 record.

Ross is the son of Steven and Kathy Ferrarini and was born May 25, 1990. He has two brothers, Steven and Nick.
