2008-09 (Sophomore)
Wicklund suffered an offseason knee injury that required surgery. He went through rehabilitation until returning to the practice court late in February but did not see any game action.

2007-08 (Redshirt Freshman)
Wicklund primarily worked on the scout team for the Huskers in practice, but saw action in eight games on the season, including six in non-conference play. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

He averaged 3.0 minutes per game and hit 2-of-5 shots from the floor while adding three rebounds, an assist and a steal during his first season of play. Wicklund posted four points on the year, collecting baskets on his only attempts of the game against Norfolk State and Alcorn State.

Off the court, Wicklund was a standout in the classroom as he earned Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades in both the fall and spring semesters.

2006-07 (Freshman)
Wicklund redshirted during his first season at Nebraska. He joined the program as a walk-on following open tryouts in the fall.

Before Nebraska
Wicklund came to the Huskers after lettering three years at Rampart High School where he had a solid career on and off the court. Playing for coach Jon St. Clair, Wicklund averaged 13 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists per game as a senior at Rampart, which plays in Class 5A.

Wicklund earned All-Metro League honors following his final season.  He posted single-game career highs of 25 points, 10 rebounds and four steals as a senior. Wicklund also earned three letters on the tennis court in high school.

During the summer season, Wicklund played AAU ball for Prime Time and was coached by Marty Clark.

In the classroom, Wicklund had a distinguished career as he was named to the academic all-state team and earned National Honor Roll accolades and was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. 

 


Personal
Andrew is the son of Jon and Catherine Wicklund, and was born Feb. 11, 1988. He has one sister, Laura, who also attends Nebraska. He is majoring in marketing at Nebraska.
