2008-09 (SENIOR)
One of most athletic guards in the Big 12 Conference, Ade Dagunduro (pronounced ah-DAY dah-gun-der-oh) capped his senior campaign by helping Nebraska to consecutive postseason appearances for the first time in a decade. He helped NU post its first .500 record (8-8) in conference action since 1999 while earning third-team All-Big 12 honors by the conference coaches and was an honorable-mention pick by the league's sports writers. He was also selected to the six-man Big 12 All-Defense Team by the coaches after helping Nebraska lead the league in scoring defense for the second straight season.

Dagunduro provided a greater level of consistency as a senior and finished the year leading NU in scoring (12.8 ppg), rebounding (4.4 rpg), field-goal percentage (52.0) and free throws made (101) and attempted (145). He was also second in blocked shots (14), third in minutes played (25.8 mpg) and fourth in steals (39).

Dagunduro continued to find more and more ways to be effective even as teams started keying on him in conference action. Despite the added attention by league squads, he averaged a team-best 14.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while hitting 53.5 percent from the floor, the fourth-best percentage in Big 12 play.

Dagunduro reached the 20-point mark five times in his last 18 career games, all against Big 12 competition. He recorded his first career 20-point performance in a 56-51 upset of Missouri, which went on to reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Dagunduro added back-to-back 20-point performances against Kansas and Texas Tech. His 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting vs. the Jayhawks was a career high before he helped NU to its first league road win at TTU with 20 points.

By tying his career best with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, Dagunduro helped NU to a victory over Iowa State on Senior Night. Four days later, he was a defensive stalwart for the Huskers while adding 11 points in a win at Baylor that secured Nebraska's first eight-win league season in a decade.

Dagunduro's best performance in the non-conference slate came with a 9-of-9 effort from the field for 19 points against UMBC. He tied the school single-game record for field goals made without a miss, and went on to hit 15 straight field goals over three games to set another NU record.

Possibly his biggest basket of the non-conference slate was a layup with less than three seconds remaining that gave NU a victory over Creighton, one of five wins on the season over teams that picked up at least one postseason victory (NIT, second round; also Missouri, NCAA Elite Eight; Texas, NCAA second round; Baylor, NIT Final Four; Kansas State, NIT second round).

2007-08 (JUNIOR)
Dagunduro made a quick impression throughout the league as he was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team by the league's sportswriters following the season. Dagunduro also was the only Husker in 2007-08 – and just the seventh Husker in the Big 12 era – to earn accolades as the Big 12 Rookie of the Week.

Early in the season, Dagunduro averaged 11.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game while helping Nebraska earn an 11-2 non-conference record to open the year. He hit 54.5 percent from the field and drained better than 75 percent from the free throw line in that stretch.

Dagunduro had a six-game stretch when he averaged 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, helping Nebraska to a 5-1 record including wins over Arizona State and nationally ranked Oregon. His performance against the Ducks – 15 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal – helped Dagunduro earn honors as the Big 12 Rookie of the Week.

Dagunduro struggled in conference action, hitting just 40.4 percent from the floor while averaging 5.8 points per game.

Looking to carry momentum into his final season, Dagunduro finished the year on a strong note, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting in a narrow loss to eventual national champion Kansas in the second round of the Big 12 Championship, and then averaged 15.5 points per game in the National Invitation Tournament.

 

Before Nebraska

Dagunduro was strong on both ends as he posted team highs in scoring average (18.2 ppg), rebounding average (8.8 rpg) and steals (86) while starting 34 of 36 games in 2006-07.

While leading Antelope Valley in scoring 15 times during the season, Dagunduro scored a season-high 30 points against Mt. San Jacinto. He also led the team in rebounds 20 times, including 12 double-figure efforts.

Dagunduro earned all-state and first-team All-Foothills Conference accolades after leading the squad to the league title with 18 more wins than the previous year. He was named MVP at three tournaments and was an all-tournament team selection at the state junior college championships. Dagunduro redshirted his first year at Antelope Valley.

Before entering junior college, he played one season at Inglewood High School, leading the team to the Division II state title game and earning second-team all-state honors. He then played the 2004-05 season at Mt. San Antonio College, where he averaged 12.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Ade is the son of April Williams and Olasupo Dagunduro, and was born May 22, 1986. His full given name is Adeola, and he has two brothers, Olatokunbo and Olayinka. Ade is majoring in sociology at Nebraska.Dagunduro joined NU after a standout season at Antelope Valley (Calif.) Community College, where he led AVCC to a 31-7 overall record in 2006-07. Antelope Valley earned a No. 3 seed from the Southern California region in the state junior college tournament and finished as state runner-up.
