2008-09 (SENIOR)
Nick Krenk completed his Nebraska career in 2008-09 by serving in a valuable leadership role on the squad. One of four seniors on the team, Krenk's guidance in practice as well as off the court helped push the Huskers to consecutive postseason appearances for the first time in a decade.

Krenk played the largest role of his career in the Husker offense, seeing action in a career-high 12 contests, including four Big 12 Conference games. He played just 29 minutes but had a career-best four assists, including two assists without a turnover in Big 12 action.

Both of Krenk's most extended minutes came during league play. At Missouri, Krenk came on to play six minutes, one off his career high. He posted one assist in the court time, one of four games with an assist on the year.

In the final regular-season home game of his career, Krenk was not only honored in a pregame ceremony with the other seniors but also had the privilege of making his first career start. Krenk played the first four minutes of the game, helping get Nebraska off to a solid start before it went on to a dominant 77-61 victory. He was then inserted back into the lineup in the last minute of the game so that he could be taken out and given a curtain call for all of his hard work and dedication during his career.

Krenk also saw action against Kansas State and Kansas in league play and made his second career postseason appearance with one minute in a hard-fought loss at New Mexico in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. In non-league play, he saw at least two minutes of action in 5-of-7 contests, posting assists against Alabama State and IPFW.

Off the court, Krenk was honored as he was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection, giving the Huskers two first-team picks for the first time in four years. He was also a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll in 2008.

2007-08 (JUNIOR)

Krenk continued in his vital role as a backup point guard and provided a valuable service with his strong play on the scout team during Coach Doc Sadler's intense practices.

Krenk's work ethic and energy off the bench helped him get into 10 contests on the season, including three during Big 12 Conference play and one in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

On the year, Krenk averaged 0.8 points and 0.4 rebounds per game. He nailed his first career 3-pointer against IPFW and added another against North Carolina Central while draining a basket against Norfolk State. He also had a career-high two assists and a steal against Savannah State while playing at least six minutes in four non-league contests.

For his effort in the classroom, Krenk was a member of the fall and spring Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. He was also one of three Huskers to be named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court following the academic year.

2006-07 (SOPHOMORE)

Krenk did not play organized basketball during his first two years on campus. After serving as a marketing student assistant in the athletic department for a year, he joined the Nebraska basketball team as a manager for the 2006-07 campaign. After injuries depleted the team in the first month of practice, Krenk was asked to participate as a walk-on to add depth at point guard. Just one day after his first official practice as a player, Krenk played in the Huskers' season-opening contest against Nebraska-Omaha, logging a season-high 13 minutes.

Krenk went on to play in nine contests on the season and earned a varsity letter after making the travel squad for every Big 12 road contest. Overall, he played 34 minutes on the season and hoisted two shot attempts ? both 3-point tries ? while adding steals against UNO, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alabama A&M. He posted his only assist of the year against Savannah State, and saw action in two league contests (Colorado at home and at Kansas).

Before Nebraska

Krenk had a solid high school career while lettering three times at Nebraska City High School for Coach Greg Lamberty. Krenk earned all-conference accolades and honorable-mention all-state honors as a senior when he was named the team's player of the year after averaging 15 points, five rebounds and two assists per game. He also shot an impressive 43 percent from 3-point range.

Off the court, Krenk lettered twice in football and was a star in the classroom as he earned a 4.0 grade-point average during high school and was valedictorian of his class. Krenk was also selected for the National Honor Society.

Personal

Nick is the son of Judy and Mitch Krenk, and was born March 9, 1986. Nick has one brother, Trevor, and is majoring in economics and psychology at Nebraska. Mitch Krenk played football for the Huskers, lettering as a tight end from 1978 to 1982, and went on to earn a spot as a free agent signee with the Chicago Bears. Mitch was with the Bears for the 1984 season, playing in eight games, and was on injured reserve in 1985 when Chicago won the Super Bowl.
