Senior (1993-94)
Bruce Chubick had a very successful four-year run at Nebraska, finishing just outside the top 10 in career rebounding at NU. Chubick played an instrumental role in the Huskers' Big Eight Championship in 1993-94, leading the team in rebounding at 7.3 a game and coming in third in scoring at 11.7 points per game. In the Big Eight Tournament, Chubick reached career highs in points and rebounding, scoring 23 in the first-round game against Oklahoma (with 13 rebounds), and grabbing 16 boards in the semifinal game against Missouri (with 17 points).
Junior (1992-93)
For the second-straight season, Chubick was a first-team Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight pick and a member of the Big Eight's all-sports academic honor roll, and in the process, became just the seventh Husker player to win at least two first-team certificates...his selection to the league's all-brain team marked the 10th straight year Nebraska had at least one first-team selection...he and fellow co-captain Jamar Johnson were the only Huskers to start all 31 games...was fourth on the team in scoring win an 8.4 average, and his 5.7 rebound average tied for second on the team...his averages in conference play were slightly higher at 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds...led team in field goal percentage with a .520 mark, a mark that would have ranked sixth in the Big Eight had he met the minimum of four field goals made per game...hit 50.0 percent or better from the field in 21 games...netted a career-high-tying 15 points and eight rebounds against Oklahoma in 19 minutes, as he went five-of-five from the field...scored in double figures 10 times, including 15-point efforts against both Sacramento State and Colgate...was second on the team in blocked shots (18), fifth in free throw percentage (.679)...grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds, one off his career-high, against Eastern Illinois...had a pair of double-doubles to his credit...grabbed five or more rebounds 21 times, including four double-figure board games...shared Ironman Award, given for team's top effort in the weight room, with teammate Jason Glock.
Sophomore (1991-92)
Broke his left foot in a preseason drill in September, and was sidelined until a week before the Huskers' Nov. 23 season opener against Sam Houston State...the layoff didn't bother Chubick, as he posted then-career-highs of 10 points and nine rebounds against the Bearkats, then bettered his scoring high with a 15-point effort two nights later against Southern Cal...first-team Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight pick and member of Big Eight's all-sports academic honor roll...named to 1992 Big Eight's most-improved team...led team in field goal shooting at 59.6 percent, including 64.8 percent in Big Eight play...would have ranked third in the Big Eight in field goal percentage, but he didn't meet the minimum of five attempts per game...had only seven sub-.500 shooting games in 29 appearances...was second on the team in blocked shots (23), fourth in rebounding (5.7), fifth in free throw shooting (.598) and tied for sixth in scoring (7.1)...averaged 6.6 rebounds in conference play, which tied for seventh in league with teammate Carl Hayes...against Kansas in Lincoln, he blocked Alonzo Jamison's dunk attempt with one second left that would have won the game for Kansas, but instead sent the game into overtime (Nebraska went on to win in overtime)...had nine double-figure scoring games...grabbed five or more rebounds 19 times...made first career start against No. 3 Kansas in Lincoln...missed NU's eight-game European tour because he broke his left foot for the second time in seven months in a pickup game after the season.
Freshman (1990-91)
A key reserve on NU's record-setting 26-8 team, Chubick saw action in 29 of 34 games, averaging 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game...came off the bench to score a then-career-high nine points an pull down four rebounds in nine minutes against Oklahoma in Lincoln...hit 63.2 percent from the field on the year, 90.9 percent (10-of-11) in Big Eight play...attempted just 38 field goals on the season...grabbed a then-career-high seven rebounds against Tennessee Tech, one of five games in which he grabbed five or more boards...longest playing stint of the season was 16 minutes against Tennessee Tech...played for Missouri Coach Norm Stewart's Big Eight Select Team which toured Italy, averaging 4.4 points per game while the team finished 4-2.
