1971-72
Chuck Jura wrapped up his Nebraska career with 1,255 points over three years to go along with 740 rebounds. Jura still ranks 15th all-time at Nebraska on the career scoring chart and eighth in career field-goal percentage, hitting 54.9 percent (500-of-910) in his career. He is also seventh in career rebounds and third at Nebraska in career rebounding average (9.6 rpg), all despite playing only 77 career games.

 

During his senior season, Jura pulled down 305 rebounds, nearly twice as many as any other Nebraska player. His average of 11.7 rebounds per game is still a Nebraska single-season record. He also scored 551 points over 26 games in the 1971-72 campaign, averaging 21.2 points per game. Jura's scoring average from his senior season is fifth on the single-season chart, one of just six players in NU history to average at least 20 points per game.

 

Following the season, Jura was honored for his play on the court and work in the classroom by being named a third-team academic All-American and first-team academic All-Big Eight selection. He also went on to be selected in the third round of the NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls before going on to play professionally for nearly a decade overseas.

 

1970-71

Jura ranked seventh nationally in field-goal percentage during his junior season with a sizzling .592, while averaging 17.5 points per game. He scored 455 points and hauled down 243 rebounds as a junior to rank second on the team in each department for the second straight year.

 

1969-70
Jura competed in 25 games during his sophomore season, when he pulled down 192 rebounds and shot .483 on the year. He scored 249 points during the campaign for 9.9 points per game in his first season of eligibility. His 192 rebounds  

 

At Schuyler High School

Jura earned All-State honors for two years and All-American accolades his senior year as a prepster at Schuyler High. His prep coach was Jay Muma.
