Kimani Ffriend left his name among the greatest centers in Nebraska history despite playing just two seasons for the Huskers.
In his two years in Lincoln, Ffriend left his name on both the single-season and career record books by ranking among the top 10 in Nebraska history for blocked shots, field-goal percentage and rebounds.
A two-time all-conference selection, Ffriend quickly began to overpower the opposing offenses with his shot-blocking ability. One of the top shot blockers in the league each season, Ffriend finished his career with 159 career blocked shots, collecting 85 as a junior and 74 as a senior, which rank third and fifth, respectively, in NU single-season history.
He also climbed the school's rebounding charts by leading the Huskers on the glass in each of his two seasons. Ffriend held an 8.8 rebound-per-game average as a junior and an 8.2 averaged during his senior campaign. While both of those rank among the best single-season averages in NU history, his career total ranks seventh among a list of highly regarded rebounders who have competed for Nebraska.
Ffriend also earned high praise his senior season for his shooting ability from the floor, although the talent did not carry over to the free-throw line. He had a 62.3 pecent (144-of-231) field-goal percentage during the season to rank third in the nation.
