1987 (Senior)
Neubert returned to football in 1987 after a long layoff, marking his first season back since his junior year of high school in 1981. He recorded two receptions for 28 yards during the year. His contributions helped the Cornhuskers finish with a 10–2 record, earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State, and support an offense that averaged 489.0 yards per game, ranking second in the nation. Neubert became the first Nebraska athlete to letter in both basketball and football since Jim Huge in 1962.
Selected by the New York Jets in the eighth round of the 1988 NFL Draft, he went on to play five seasons in the NFL before his career was cut short by injury in 1992. He had several standout performances during his time, including six receptions for 40 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, four receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown at the Los Angeles Rams, four catches for 53 yards against the Miami Dolphins, and five receptions for 66 yards in a victory over the New England Patriots.
1986-87 (Junior)
Neubert was a three-year letterwinner in basketball. In 33 games played, he averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Neubert helped first year head coach Danny Nee's team to an unexpected 21-12 record.
1985-86 (Sophomore)
Neubert played a key reserve role during the 1985–86 season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball, providing depth off the bench. He shot 41.2% from the field during the year. His efforts helped Nebraska finish with a 19–11 record and earn an NCAA Tournament appearance.
1984-85 (Redshirt)
Neubert Redshirted his second year on the Nebraska Basketball team.
1983-84 (Freshman)
Neubert helped the Nebraska men's basketball to an 18–12 record as a true freshman, appearing in five games and averaging 2.6 points per game. He contributed to a .500 finish in conference play and was part of a team that advanced to the second round of the NIT Tournament.
Fort Atkinson High School
Neubert earned prep All-American honors from Street & Smith and Adidas as a senior in 1983. He gave up football after his junior year to focus fully on basketball and signed his letter of intent to play at Nebraska during the fall of his senior year. At Nebraska, he went on to letter in 1984, 1986, and 1987.
Personal
Neubert is a communications major and the son of Robert and Jean Neubert. He has one brother and one sister. Born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Neubert made his debut as an Actor in the lead role in Son's of Trinity. Keith is now a television host and a filmmaker.
