Andrew Morgan Season 2024-25

BEFORE NEBRASKA
Andrew Morgan spent the last three seasons at North Dakota State playing for Coach Dave Richman. A two-year starter, Morgan tallied 860 points and 402 rebounds in 85 contests for the Bison. In 2023-24, Morgan started 29 of 32 contests, averaging 12.9 points per game on 56 percent shooting and 5.0 rebounds per game en route to All-Summit League second team accolades. Morgan ranked among Summit League leaders in scoring (15th), rebounding (16th) and free throw percentage (.703, ninth). He had 22 double-figure games, including four 20-point outings. He had a season-high 31 points against Kansas City and posted double-doubles against Western Michigan (12 points, 13 rebounds) and Oral Roberts (14 points, 13 rebounds). As a sophomore, Morgan made 30 starts and averaged 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as the Bison reached the title game of the 2023 Summit League Tournament. He was second on the team in rebounding and third in scoring, including a season-high 29-point effort on 11-of-16 shooting against Kansas City. He also had 24 points and 13 rebounds in a win over South Dakota State. Morgan played in 21 games as a freshman, averaging 5.3 points on 63 percent shooting and 3.3 rebounds per game to help the Bison reach the Summit League Tournament title game.

Morgan was ranked in the top 250 nationally by Prep Hoops as a senior, as he helped Waseca High School to a 23-1 record and a Class 2A state title for Coach Seth Anderson. A finalist for Mr. Basketball in Minnesota in 2021, he averaged 22.1 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior to earn second-team all-state accolades. As a junior, he averaged 19.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He garnered first-team all-state honors as a sophomore when he averaged 15.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game to help Waseca to a runner-up finish. In all, he totaled over 1,900 career points during his prep career, highlighted by a 36-point, 22-rebound effort against Minneapolis North High School. Morgan played AAU ball for the Minnesota Heat and Coach Johnny Tauer, as the team finished second in the state of Minnesota in the U17 division.  Morgan visited Minnesota, and considered several other programs, including Clemson, Penn State, NC State, Notre Dame, San Francisco, DePaul and Tarlton State. 

PERSONAL
The son of Keith and Lori Morgan, Andrew was born on Nov. 21, 2022, in Mankato, Minn. He has one older sister (Rebecca). He is majoring in Agricultural Economics at Nebraska and plans on returning to his family farm to grow corn and soybeans after his career ends.
