2022-23 (Redshirt Freshman)
• Redshirt freshman who is the Huskers’ top perimeter defender and is an excellent athlete
• Grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in the loss at Penn State on Jan. 21 
• Had seven points and a season-high eight rebounds in 30 minutes in the win over Ohio State
• Made his first career start at No. 3 Purdue with three rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes
• Had eight points, three rebounds and a pair of assists in 21 minutes against Omaha

2021-22 (Redshirt)
Originally in the 2022 recruiting class, Dawson reclassified and enrolled at Nebraska following the fall 2021 semester. He redshirted his first year at Nebraska, and was a valuable member of the Husker scout team as he adapted to college hoops. 

Before Nebraska
Dawson originally signed with Nebraska in November of 2021, while doing a postgrad year at Southern California Academy,. A three-star recruit by both Rivals and 247Sports, Dawson was rated just outside the top-250 recruits nationally by 247Sports in the class of 2022. As a senior, Dawson averaged 16 points and five rebounds per game for Coach Daniel Dunbar at Orange Lutheran High School, which reached the Division 2AA CIF-SS quarterfinals in the spring of 2021. Dawson, who shot close to 40 percent from 3-point range, was named Trinity League MVP and an all-conference pick in 2021.  He was ranked No. 20 in Southern California in the 2021 class by Fullcourt Press. He previously played for Colony High School before transferring prior to the 2020-21 season. Dawson played AAU ball with the California Stars and Coach Julius von Hanzlik. Dawson selected NU over a host of schools, including Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, DePaul, Pepperdine and Iona.

Personal
The son of Alvoid and Keyona Hamilton, Denim Jones-Dawson was born on April 24, 2003, in San Bernardino, Calif. He has three sisters (Kennedy, Devaughna and Alyssa). Dawson is majoring in child, youth and family studies at Nebraska.
