2022 (Junior)
Wyatt Liewer played in every game in 2022, seeing action on offense and special teams. He started at wide receiver in the season opener against Northwestern and made his first catch of the season with a career-long 13-yard reception against Georgia Southern. Liewer had a five-yard reception against No. 6 Oklahoma.
2021 (Sophomore)
Liewer played in every game in 2021 with four starts at wide receiver, totaling four catches for 24 yards. He started the first game of his career at Illinois and had two catches for 13 yards. Liewer had a five-yard reception against Northwestern and caught a six-yard pass at Minnesota.
2020 (Covid Season)
Liewer worked his way into the Nebraska receiving rotation as a sophomore, appearing in all eight games and catching three passes for 22 yards and one touchdown. He made his Husker debut by appearing in the season opener at No. 5 Ohio State. Liewer had the first reception of his career with a 10-yard touchdown catch in Nebraska’s win at Purdue. Liewer caught a career-high two passes for 12 yards against Minnesota.
2019 (Redshirt Freshman)
Liewer provided depth at wide receiver but did not play in a game as a redshirt freshman.
2018 (Redshirt)
Liewer added depth to the wide receiving corps while utilizing his redshirt season in 2018.
Before Nebraska (O'Neill HS)
Liewer joined Nebraska as a two-time all-state selection from O’Neill High School, where he helped the Eagles to the Class C-1 state title in 2016. In 2017, he caught 62 passes for 787 yards and five touchdowns en route to all-state wide receiver honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World-Herald. Liewer also compiled 184 kickoff return yards and 74 punt return yards. Defensively, Liewer tallied 102 tackles, including 51 solo stops, with 7.5 tackles for loss as a senior. Liewer had 35 catches for 606 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior and was an all-state defensive back after totaling 28 tackles and four interceptions. Liewer represented the North Squad in the 2018 Nebraska Shrine Bowl.
Personal
Wyatt is the son of Jamie and Michelle Liewer, and he was born on June 16, 1999. He graduated with a degree in agricultural economics in December of 2021, and is working toward a graduate degree. Liewer has volunteered his time with the Nebraska Football Road Race the UNL Career Fair and local hospital visits. Wyatt’s father, Jamie, was a three-year letterwinner for the Huskers from 1990 to 1992, and a two-year starter on the defensive line.
