Tyreke Johnson did not play in a game in 2022.

2021 (Sophomore)
Johnson played in two game in 2021, making his Husker debut in the win over Fordham. He also played on special teams in the season finale against No. 17 Iowa.

Before Nebraska (Trinity Christian Academy/Ohio State)
Johnson joined the Nebraska program after spending three seasons at Ohio State. The Florida native saw action in a total of 12 games in the Buckeye secondary over the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Johnson played in five games for the Big Ten champion Buckeyes in 2020, recording five tackles, including four against Rutgers. In 2019, Johnson played in seven games with three tackles, including a pair of stops against Rutgers. Johnson redshirted in the 2018 season.

Johnson attended Trinity Christian High School in Jacksonville, Fla., where he finished with 113 career tackles, 28 breakups and nine interceptions. He returned six of his nine career interceptions for touchdowns. Johnson was a consensus top-25 player in the 2018 recruiting class and was listed as the nation’s No. 14 overall prospect and No. 1 safety according to Rivals. Johnson was a U.S. Army All-American and was the Florida Times Union 2017 Defensive Player of the Year.

Tyreke is the son of Pamela Jones and Edward Johnson, and he was born on Nov. 4, 1998. A child, youth and family studies major, he earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2022.
