1993 (senior):

Bell Started in five games his senior season and played in 11 playing split end, Full back, wingback, and tight end. Bell had two touchdowns his senior season the first going for 7 yards from Tommie Frazier against Kansas State. Bell also scored on a 10 yard reception from Frazier against Kansas on Nov. 6. Bell had 12 receptions for 187 yards on the year averaging 15.6 yards per catch. His season long was 33 yards against Missouri. Bell also played in the Federal Express Orange Bowl against Florida State. He led the team in receiving yards against the Seminoles with 75 yards on four receptions.

1992 (junior):

Bell played in all 11 games for the Huskers including the Orange Bowl and started in three (Arizona State, Colorado, and Kansas State) as he alternated with senior Tyrone Hughes and junior Corey Dixon at split end. He tied I-back Calvin Jones for the team lead in receptions. He scored his first career touchdown as a Husker against Oklahoma State on a 14-yard reception from mike Grant. He had three receptions twice; 3-32 yards vs. Middle Tennessee State and 3-19 yards vs. Arizona State. His longest catch was 14 yards three times. He caught at least one pass in each of the first six games. His lone kickoff return for no yards was a recovery of an onside kick vs. Kansas State. Bell started against Florida State in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 1993 when Nebraska lined up in a spread formation. He had no receptions, but did have one incomplete pass attempt on a lateral from Tommie Frazier to Vincent Hawkins in the second quarter.

1991 (sophomore):

Redshirted after transferring from Highland.

Before Nebraska (Highland CC):

As an honorable-mention juco All-American for Coach Marty Allen, Bell caught 46 passes for 938 yards (20.4 yards per catch) to rank sixth nationally among junior college receivers. He caught 13 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns against independence as a sophomore and he was a two-time All-Interstate Collegiate Conference pick.

Simeon HS:

A three year letter winner at receiver and defensive back for Coach Al Scott, he was a teammate for former Husker tight end Johnny Mitchell. Simon reached the Chicago Public League semifinals his senior year in 1988.

Personal:

The son of Clara Bell, he was born in Chicago on Nov. 26, 1971, the day after Nebraska beat Oklahoma 35-31 in the “Game of the Century.” He has one brother, Tawan. Bell earned his degree in sociology in August of 1993 before the start of his senior season. Bell was a volunteer speaker at the 1993 Best of America, “School is Cool” program and at Omaha Youth Rap Sessions. His son, Trumane, committed to play football for Texas-San Antonio as part of the 2018 class.
