1982 (Senior)
Gdowski back upped Toby Williams as a senior, Gdowski started the Oklahoma game when Williams was sidelined with a strained knee. He was in on three tackles against the Sooners for his season high. Tom also had one tackle for loss for one yard. Nebraska finished the season with a 12-1 record and an Orange Bowl win  against LSU, 21-20.

1981 (Junior)
Tom finished his junior season with 13 tackles, including two tackles for losses totaling four yards and one quarterback sack for a nine-yard loss. Gdowski stepped in for Toby Williams four times and was a starter- vs. Iowa, Florida State, Colorado and Kansas State.  

He also saw action in the Orange Bowl-National Championship game. Gdowski recorded three unassisted tackles. One of those being a sack on Clemson quarterback Homer Jordan which forced the Tigers to attempt an unsuccessful 58 yard field goal in the closing seconds of the first half. 

1980 (Sophomore)
Tom earned his first varsity letter as a sophomore. He finished the season with five tackles, three of the unassisted. He also had one tackle for a loss of five yards. 

1979 (Redshirt)
Tom redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1978 (Freshman)
Gdowski started for the freshman team. 

Fullerton High School
Tom was all-state and all-conference for Coach Ray Diez where he also lettered in basketball, track and golf. 

Personal
Tom was a general agriculture major and is the son of Eddie and Mary Lou Gdowski.
