Andrew Verboys

Andrew Verboys is in his second season as Nebraska's assistant wide receivers coach in 2026. He is in his sixth collegiate season and boasts experience in the ACC, Big Ten and SEC.

In his first season at Nebraska, the Huskers had the highest season completion percentage in program history. NU also had three wide receivers with five or more touchdown receptions for the first time in program history.

NEBRASKA (2025)
As Nebraska's assistant wide receivers coach in 2025, Verboys heloped the Huskers to a record-breaking season. The wideouts played a key role in Nebraska's quarterbacks completing 68.8 of their passes, the highest completion percentage in school history and a mark that ranked 10th nationally. Nebraska also had three wide receivers who caught five or more touchdown passes, a first in program history.

Verboys' wide receivers combined for 17 touchdown catches in 2025 after NU wideouts had just 15 touchdown receptions in the 2023 and 2024 seasons combined. Sophomore Jacory Barney Jr. and first-year transfers Nyziah Hunter and Dane Key combined for 127 catches, 1,553 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 2025. Verboys also helped Barney become just the second Husker to have 100 career receptions prior to his junior season.

BEFORE NEBRASKA
KENTUCKY: Verboys served as a graduate assistant at Kentucky from 2022 to 2024. He worked with the Wildcat wide receivers, and Key thrived under his tutelage. Key had more than 1,300 receiving yards over the 2023 and 2024 seasons combined. In 2023, Key was one of three Kentucky receivers who had more than 500 receiving yards. Barion Brown also had more than 1,500 receiving yards in the three seasons he was coached by Verboys.

VIRGINIA TECH: Prior to Kentucky, Verboys spent the 2021 season at Virginia Tech. He coached the wide receivers as a volunteer assistant/offensive quality control coach in the spring before moving into a graduate assistant role and coaching the cornerbacks and safeties during the season. The Hokies ranked 17th nationally in interceptions in 2021.

SCARSDALE (N.Y.) HS: Verboys was a high school coach before moving into the college ranks. He was an assistant coach/pass game coordinator at Scarsdale High School in New York in 2019 under his father, Andy.

PLAYING CAREER (DELAWARE/MASSACHUSETTS)
Verboys played collegiately as a quarterback at Delaware (2016-18) and a wide receiver Massachusetts (2014-16). He played in 24 games in three seasons with Delaware after playing in one contest in two years at Massachusetts.

Following his collegiate career, Verboys played for the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL in 2019 and the New York Guardians in the XFL in 2020. He also had a free agent workout with the Green Bay Packers in 2021.

Verboys earned his bachelor's degree in English from Delaware in 2018.
