Pierce Mooberry is a second-generation Husker who excelled on both sides of the football at Millard North High School. Mooberry finished his prep career with 170 tackles in 29 games while adding 53 receptions for 1,110 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Mooberry had a strong senior season, helping the Mustangs to the Class A state quarterfinals. A preseason Omaha World-Herald Super Six selection, Mooberry had 50 tackles and six tackles for loss. On offense, he had 32 receptions for 556 yards and six touchdowns, averaging better than 17 yards per reception and nearly 80 receiving yards per game.
Mooberry also excelled on both sides of the ball as a junior. He totaled 68 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss on defense and averaged nearly 30 yards per catch on offense. Mooberry earned all-metro honors from the World-Herald for his play as a junior.
Mooberry is regarded as one of the top five players in the state of Nebraska, including being ranked as the state’s top prospect by On3, which also lists him among the top 25 linebackers in the nation.
Pierce's father, Brandon Mooberry, played defensive end at Nebraska from 1996 to 2000, earning letters in his final two seasons.
