2024 (Freshman)
Vincent Shavers Jr. has played in every game as a true freshman with one start. He has recorded 16 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. In his Husker debut against UTEP, Shavers recorded three tackles. He had a pair of solo tackles against Northern Iowa. Shavers had a solo tackle on kickoff coverage against Illinois. He recorded one tackle from his linebacker spot at Purdue. Shavers had one tackle against Rutgers. He made his first career start at Indiana and had a pair of solo tackles. Shavers recorded two tackles against UCLA. He had a career-high four tackles at USC with a half tackle for loss for his first career TFL.

Before Nebraska (Miami Central HS)
Shavers was one of the top players in the Miami area before joining Nebraska. He totaled more than 170 tackles in his prep career with more than 30 tackles for loss and 20 sacks.

Shavers spent his senior season at Miami Central High School. According to MaxPreps, he had 46 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks as a senior. 

As a junior, Shavers played for Monsignor Pace where he was a linebacker and running back. He totaled 56 tackles with 17 tackles for loss, eight sacks, 10 quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and an interception. He also blocked one punt. As a sophomore, Shavers recorded 69 tackles and eight sacks for Monsignor Pace.

Shavers was regarded as a four-star prospect by Rivals. He was ranked as the No. 27 outside linebacker recruit by Rivals.
