Before Nebraska (Hi-Line HS)
Multi-sport standout Ryker Evans joined the Nebraska program after starring at Hi-Line High School, helping his team to the Class D-1 playoffs his final two seasons. 

Evans threw for 650 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior, while rushing 145 times for 1,482 yards and 33 touchdowns. He added 72 tackles, five interceptions and a fumble recovery. Evans was a first-team Class D-1 all-state pick by the Lincoln Journal Star as an athlete on offense, while the Omaha World-Herald made him a first-team choice as a defensive back. 

In his junior year, he helped Hi-Line to an 8-2 record and a trip to the second round of the state playoffs. Evans rushed for 1,268 yards and 12 touchdowns while recording three interceptions and two fumble recoveries on defense. He was a first-team Class D-1 choice as a defensive back by both newspapers as a junior. 

Evans also played basketball and was a standout in track and field. He won the 200 meters at the Class C state meet in 2023 while finishing second in the 100 meters and fourth in the 4x100 meter relay. He placed in the top 10 in the 100 and 200 as a sophomore. 

Evans also had opportunities to play at Air Force and Army.
