2023 (Junior)
Hutmacher started all 12 games at nose tackle and set career highs with 40 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Hutmacher was a big part of a Blackshirt defense that posted Nebraska’s best rushing defense (92.9 yards per game), total defense (303.5 yards per game) and scoring defense (18.3 points per game) since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011. NU ranked in the top 20 nationally in each of those three categories. Hutmacher was key in Nebraska ranking eighth nationally in rushing defense. He wore the No. 0 as one of 10 Huskers to earn a single-digit number in a team vote selecting him as one of Nebraska’s “toughest” players.

Hutmacher totaled four tackles at Minnesota, including an eight-yard sack. Against Northern Illinois, he recorded six tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss, which included a half sack. He was a disruptive force against Northwestern, setting career highs with seven tackles, 2.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks. He had four tackles against Maryland with a two-yard tackle for loss. He ended his season with four tackles against Iowa that included a half sack. Hutmacher also blocked his first career field goal against the Hawkeyes and added a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries.
Following the completion of the football season, Hutmacher dropped more than 40 pounds to compete for the Nebraska wrestling team in the 285-pound class. Hutmacher posted a 7-8 record, finished sixth at the Big Ten Championships and qualified for the NCAA Championships. He also earned Academic All-America honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association. 

2022 (Sophomore)
Hutmacher played in all 12 games with two starts in 2022. He posted 15 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss on the season.

Hutmacher made his first career start against Northwestern and then recorded his first career tackle the next week against North Dakota. He had two tackles against No. 6 Oklahoma and one tackle against Indiana. Hutmacher posted his first career solo tackle at Purdue and had two tackles against No. 17 Illinois. He recorded one solo tackle against Minnesota and had two tackles at No. 3 Michigan. He started against Wisconsin and had four tackles with his first career TFL. In the season-ending win at Iowa, Hutmacher recorded one tackle.

2021 (Freshman)
Hutmacher played in 11 games in 2021, appearing on both defense and special teams. He provided valuable depth on the defensive line over five games, but he did not record a tackle.

2020 (Covid Season)
Hutmacher gained valuable experience on the defensive line as a true freshman in 2020. He appeared in one game, making his Husker debut in the season finale at Rutgers.

Before Nebraska (Chamberlain HS)
Hutmacher was a standout three-sport athlete for Chamberlain High School in South Dakota. In addition to being a three-time all-state football player, Hutmacher was also a four-time state champion in wrestling and two-time state champion in track and field.

Hutmacher was a three-time all-state selection who set several school records while finishing with 269 career tackles, 63 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. As a senior, Hutmacher had 88 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and four sacks. As a junior, he totaled 105 tackles (56 solo) with 11 TFLs, 10 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He also saw limited action at running back, scoring three touchdowns on nine carries. 

On the wrestling mat, Hutmacher was a four-time state champion, the first four-time heavyweight state champion in South Dakota history and the first four-time champion in one weight class in state history. Ranked as the nation’s No. 1 high school heavyweight wrestler, Hutmacher went 166-0 from his freshman to senior season. He first started practicing with the varsity team as a sixth grader and amassed 226 career wins and competed in six state tournaments. Hutmacher won each of his final 73 matches by pin - 71 in the first period - the second-longest pin streak in the history of high school wrestling. He became the first person to be named the Daily Republic Wrestler of the Year four times.

Hutmacher was 43-0 as a senior, with each win via pin including 30 within one minute. He won the Junior Schalles Award as the nation's best high school pinner. He went 33-0 as a junior with 32 pins and one forfeit en route to earning a spot on the 2018-19 USA Today All-USA Boys Wrestling Team. He was 46-0 as the state champion as a sophomore and 44-0 as a freshman state champion. Outside of high school competition, Hutmacher was a four-time All-American who won several event titles, including pinning three of his four opponents en route to the 2019 USA Wrestling Junior Folkstyle National Championship and winning the 2017 USA Wrestling Cadet Freestyle National Championship.

In track and field, Hutmacher won the Class A state title in the shot put and discus as a junior. Hutmacher was named the 2018-19 and 2019-20 South Dakota Boys Athlete of the Year.
The consensus No. 1 player in South Dakota, Hutmacher also visited Oregon and Wisconsin. A three-star prospect, 247Sports ranked Hutmacher among the nation’s top 50 defensive tackles, while Rivals listed him among the nation’s top 55 defensive tackles.

Personal
Nash is the son of Joe and Laura Hutmacher and was born on May 15, 2001. He completed his degree in management in May of 2024 and will compete as a graduate student this fall. Hutmacher is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
