Larry Tarver Jr. has played in two games as a true freshman.
Before Nebraska (Miami Norland HS)
Tarver was one of the top defensive backs in the Miami area prior to joining Nebraska. In addition to being an all-district performer on the football field, Tarver was also a terrific sprinter on the track.
Tarver had 41 tackles and five interceptions in his senior season at Miami Norland High School. He played his junior season at TRU Prep Academy and had 30 tackles, seven interceptions and six pass breakups. As a sophomore at Carol City, Tarver recorded 20 tackles, three interceptions and five pass breakups.
Tarver was also a standout on the track. He owned a personal-best time of 10.65 in the 100 meters in high school, and Tarver finished eighth at the 2023 Florida 2A state meet. In the 200 meters, his best time was 21.55. He competed at the state meet as a junior in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay, finishing third in the 4x100-meter relay.
Tarver was regarded as a four-star prospect by Rivals, which ranked him among the top 35 cornerbacks in the country.
