Ian Flynt Signing Day

Ian Flynt joins Nebraska from James Taylor High School in Katy, Texas. Flynt was one of the top tight ends in the state for Katy Taylor and Coach Chad Simmons.

As a senior, Flynt caught six passes for 140 yards, averaging more than 23 yards per reception. He was also an outstanding blocker on the perimeter. Flynt earned all-district honors for his performance. Flynt was also an all-district selection as a junior when he had 10 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns. In his sophomore season, Flynt had four receptions for 60 yards. 

Flynt also competed in track and field for Katy Taylor. He won meets in both the shot put and discus as a sophomore.

Flynt is ranked among nation’s top 20 tight ends by ESPN. The three-star recruit is also ranked among the top 60 players in Texas by Rivals, and he was recognized as the No. 1 tight end in Texas. His sister, Amelia, is a junior thrower for the Nebraska track and field team and his father, Darren, also competed in track and field for the Huskers, earning a letter in 1995.
