David Borchers redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.
Before Nebraska (North Scott HS)
Borchers starred on the offensive line for North Scott High School in Iowa before joining the Nebraska program. Borchers was a versatile lineman in high school, lining up at offensive guard and nose tackle. Borchers was a Class 4A all-state selection, and he was also a Quad Cities All-Metro pick.
Borchers drew recruiting interest from several FBS and FCS programs. He was regarded as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and was ranked among the top 20 players in Iowa. He initially signed with Iowa Central Community College before deciding to walk on at Nebraska.
