Before Nebraska (Lyons Township HS)
Pasko was a two-way standout for Lyons Township High School in the Chicago area. He drew recruiting interest from several FBS programs before deciding to walk on with the Huskers.

Pasko played both running back and linebacker during his high school career. In his senior season, Pasko was named a first-team Class 8A all-state selection by both the Chicago Tribune and the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association. He recorded 83 tackles with 15 sacks on defense while rushing for five touchdowns on offense. His play helped Lyons Township to a 9-3 record and a trip to the state quarterfinals.

In his junior season, Pasko totaled 56 tackles and had two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns. Pasko also played baseball for Lyons Township, and he was on the basketball team for two seasons.
