2024 (Junior)
Nate Boerkircher has played in every game this season with two starts. He made his first start of the season against Colorado and had a career-long 25-yard reception. Boerkircher's second start of the season came at Purdue.

2023 (Sophomore)
Boerkircher played in all 12 games with seven starts, catching five passes for 51 yards while adding one rush for 11 yards. In addition to ranking second among NU’s tight ends in receptions and receiving yards, Boerkircher’s blocking helped NU rank No. 2 in the Big Ten in rushing.

Boerkircher had a four-yard reception at Minnesota in his first start of the season. He caught two passes for a career-high 33 yards in another start the next week at Colorado. Boerkircher had a seven-yard reception against Michigan and had another seven-yard catch against Northwestern.

2022 (Redshirt Freshman)
Boerkircher played in every game with four starts as a redshirt freshman. He caught six passes for 52 yards and one touchdown.

Boerkircher earned his first career start against North Dakota and set career highs with two receptions and 32 receiving yards. He also caught a 19-yard touchdown pass for his first career score. After starting against Georgia Southern but not catching a pass, Boerkircher had a four-yard reception against No. 6 Oklahoma. He started against No. 17 Illinois and had another four-yard reception. Boerkircher made his second straight start the next week against Minnesota. He made his fifth catch of the season with a six-yard grab at No. 3 Michigan. Boerkircher ended the season with a six-yard reception at Iowa.

2021 (Redshirt)
Boerkircher played in three games while redshirting in 2021. He saw action on offense and special teams in wins against Fordham and Buffalo before making his first career reception with a seven-yard grab against Northwestern.

2020 (Covid Season)
Boerkircher did not play in a game in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Aurora HS)
Boerkircher joined Nebraska as a walk-on from Aurora High School. As a senior, Boerkircher earned Class C-1 all-state honors from the Omaha World-Herald, helping the Huskies to an 8-4 record. As a junior Boerkircher helped Aurora to a perfect 13-0 record and Class C-1 state title. He had two receiving touchdowns for a team that threw for better than 315 yards per game, and also contributed 15 tackles on defense. Boerkircher had a scholarship offer to Chadron State. Boerkircher was also a second-team all-state pick in basketball as a senior, when he averaged 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Personal
Nate is the son of Matt and Sherry Boerkircher, and he was born on Sept. 4, 2001. He is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection who earned a degree in finance in May of 2024. Nate’s older brother, Ian, was an offensive lineman for NU (2020-22).
