2022 (Junior)
Matt Masker did not play in a game in 2022, but he was a valuable member of the quarterback room. Following the season, he was named Nebraska's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
2021 (Sophomore)
Masker played in two games in 2021. He made his Husker debut in the win over Fordham. Masker then completed 3-of-3 passes for 17 yards and had a 13-yard carry against Northwestern.
2020 (Covid Season)
Masker added depth at the quarterback position as a sophomore. He did not play in a game but was a member of Nebraska's travel roster for every road game in 2020.
2019 (Redshirt Freshman)
Masker did not play in a game as a redshirt freshman, but he did travel to Purdue as Nebraska's No. 3 quarterback.
2018 (Redshirt)
Masker was Nebraska's No. 3 quarterback for much of the season as a true freshman walk-on. Although he did not play in a game and redshirted, Masker was a member of Nebraska's travel roster for Husker trips to Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.
Before Nebraska (Kearney Catholic HS)
Masker helped Kearney Catholic High School to three Class C-1 playoff appearances, including semifinal berths in 2014 and 2016. A two-time all-state selection, Masker made the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska second team as a senior. In his career, Masker threw for more than 7,000 yards with a 63.4 percent completion rate and 86 touchdowns. As a senior, Masker threw for 2,506 yards and 25 touchdowns, while rushing for 341 yards and six scores. As a junior in 2016, he compiled 2,717 passing yards and 36 touchdowns. In 2015, Masker threw for 1,724 yards and 24 touchdowns. Following his prep career, Masker represented the South Squad in the 2018 Nebraska Shrine Bowl.
Personal
Matt is the son of Ken and Ann Masker, and he was born on Aug. 14, 1999. A child, youth and family studies major, Matt earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2022. He was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Inner Circle. Masker volunteered with the FCA, the Athletic Department Career Fair, the Nebraska Football Road Race and local hospital visits.
