Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Academic Honor Roll (2009)
2010 Outlook
Redshirt freshman Brett Wells is expected to add depth at tight end, one of Nebraska's deepest and most experienced positions heading into the 2010 campaign. A walk-on from St. Paul, Neb., Wells made the most of his first year in the program adding 25 pounds of muscle to his 6-4 frame.
2009 (Redshirt)
Wells redshirted and worked on the scout team offense.
Before Nebraska (St. Paul HS)
Wells had an outstanding prep career at St. Paul High School, where he earned honorable-mention all-state honors from the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star for his efforts for the Wildcats and Coach Travis Brouillette. Wells' play helped St. Paul to the second round of the Class C-1 state playoffs in 2008.
Wells was also a member of the basketball team, averaging about 15 points and 10 rebounds per game as a senior. He was an honorable-mention all-state pick by both papers during his junior season, while earning second-team all-state accolades from LJS as a senior.
Personal
Brett is the son of Tim and Pam Wells, and he was born on Nov. 16, 1990. Wells has not declared a major, but was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Academic Honor Roll.
