Brandon Johnson Season 2007

2007 (Senior)
Brandon Johnson provided depth in the Nebraska defensive front in 2006 and 2007. The 6-3, 315-pound Johnson played in a total of 13 games during his two-year Husker career, including seven as a senior in 2007.

The two-year letterman was in on three assisted tackles, one each against Texas A&M, Texas and Kansas, in 2007. Johnson also served in a reserve role on the defensive line in 2006 and saw action as a blocker on extra-point and field goal units. Johnson recorded an assisted tackle against Nicholls State.

Originally from Chicago, Johnson joined the NU program during fall camp of 2006, coming to Lincoln from Compton Community College in California.

2006 (Junior)
Johnson played in non-conference wins over Nicholls State and Troy and saw action in Big 12 contests against Kansas State, Texas, Oklahoma State and Colorado. He made an assisted tackle against Nicholls State.

Before Nebraska (Marshall HS/Graceland/Compton CC)
Johnson played in 2005 at Compton (Calif.) Community College, the same school as former Husker Ola Dagunduro. Playing for Coach Cornell Ward at Compton, Johnson recorded 79 tackles, including 10 sacks and 15 tackles for losses, earning first-team All-Western State Conference Southern Division honors. Johnson ranked as the 84th-best junior college prospect according to Rivals.com, and received a three-star rating from both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

As a freshman, the Chicago native played for NAIA school Graceland University in Lamoni, Ill., and totaled 51 tackles and eight sacks before transferring to Compton. Johnson also received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oregon and Washington. He attended high school at Marshall High School in Chicago.

Personal
The son of Lisa Johnson-Parquet, Brandon was born on Sept. 2, 1985. He is majoring in sociology and has taken part in Nebraska’s hospital visits.
