2006 Outlook
Dontrell Moore returns for his senior season as part of a deep, versatile and talented Nebraska linebacking corps. Moore played in all 11 regular-season games last season, and also assisted on Nebraska’s outstanding special teams. Moore has the versatility to play any of the linebacker positions, as well as at defensive end.

The 6-2, 240-pound Moore spent time at all three linebacker spots in 2005, and also saw action at rush end in passing situations late in the year. A native of Thibodaux, La., Moore was an imposing pass rusher at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College before coming to Nebraska.

2005 (Junior)
Moore played in all 11 regular-season games before missing the Alamo Bowl. He finished with three tackles, including a solo stop against Wake Forest and assists against Texas Tech and at Missouri. He played an enhanced role at Colorado as a pass rusher, and registered a hurry on CU quarterback Joel Klatt. Moore also contributed on special teams, serving as a starter on the kickoff squad, while being a backup on the punt, punt block, field goal/PAT and kickoff return teams.

Before Nebraska (Thibodaux HS/Coffeyville CC)
Moore led the Coffeyville Community College defense with more than 50 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. His performance helped Coach Jeff Leiker's team to a 10-2 record in 2004, a victory in a bowl game in Scottsdale, Ariz., and a No. 3 national ranking. Moore also had 13 quarterback hurries, five pass breakups, a pair of forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Moore was the 12th-ranked junior college linebacker in the country according to College Football News. He came to Nebraska from Coffeyville CC, which also produced former Husker defensive end Wali Muhammad and Nebraska's 1983 Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier. Moore had a standout prep career at Thibodaux High School in Louisiana. Moore received scholarship offers from several other schools, including Arkansas and South Carolina.

Personal
The son of Rosalind Moore, Dontrell was born on Sept. 17, 1984. He is majoring in sociology and is expected to graduate in May of 2007.
