2005 (Senior)
Offensive lineman Gary Pike served as a versatile backup on the offensive line throughout his Nebraska career and saw significant action on special teams in his final two seasons in a Husker uniform.

Pike appeared in 18 games in his career including eight as a senior, and served on Nebraska’s PAT and field goal units. He was also a backup offensive guard for the Huskers.

A two-time academic All-Big 12 selection and a four-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Pike earned his bachelor’s degree in December of 2005. A physics and mathematics major, Pike was one of 10 Huskers to graduate in December and one of 12 NU players to head to the Alamo Bowl as college graduates.

2004 (Junior)
Pike played in 10 games as a backup to Kurt Mann at center, and also on NU'a PAT and field goal units. The only game Pike did not play came vs. Southern Miss.

2003 (Sophomore)
Pike was a reserve offensive lineman, but did not see game action.

2002 (Redshirt Freshman)
Pike was a reserve offensive tackle, but did not appear in any games.

2001 (Redshirt)
A scholarship recruit, Pike sat out as a redshirt in his first season.

Before Nebraska (Centennial HS)
Pike started on both sides of the ball for three seasons at Centennial High School in Pueblo, Colo. Pike earned first-team all-state honors as a senior from the Rocky Mountain News and the Denver Post for Coach Troy Niccoli. Pike averaged 11 pancakes per game as a senior in 2000, and also starred on defense with 38 tackles and four sacks. He made 87 tackles in his junior season. Pike attended Big Red Football School and committed to the Huskers in the summer of 2000. He was also recruited by Stanford, Colorado, Colorado State and Notre Dame. Pike was an honor roll student at Centennial and started for the basketball team as a junior.

Personal
The son of Gary Sr. and Leslie Pike, Gary Jr. was born on Nov. 15, 1982. Gary earned his bachelor's degree in December of 2005, after majoring in physics and mathematics at Nebraska. He was a first-team academic All-Big 12 selection in 2004 and a four-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
