Career

Russell Froehlich played in four games throughout his collegiate career. He recorded one tackle, in 1996, for a two-yard loss and was a member of all three of Nebraska's national championship teams in the 1990's.

1998 (Senior)

Froehlich did not see any game action his senior year.

1997 (Junior)

Froehlich played in two games as a reserve linebacker but did not have any tackles. He was an academic All-Big 12 honorable-mention and earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's fall semester academic honor roll.

1996 (Sophomore)

As a sophomore, Froehlich played in two games and recorded one assisted tackle, which was a two-yard loss against Colorado State.

1995 (Freshman)

Froehlich did not see game action his freshman year.

1994 (Redshirt)

A walk-on, Froehlich redshirted his first year as a Husker.

Bellevue East High School

Playing tight end and outside linebacker for Coach Bill James, Froehlich earned honorable-mention all-conference and academic all-state honors, posting a 3.9 grade-point average.

Personal

The son of Ralph and Judy Froehlich, Russell was born on June 23, 1976. Russell majored in mathematics and earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 1999.
