Career

Jason Benes ended his collegiate career, appearing in 22 games, with a total of three tackles (one solo) and two pass breakups.

1997 (Senior)

Benes entered the 1997 season as a reserve right corner behind returning starter Ralph Brown and senior Leslie Dennis. Benes recorded one assisted tackle and one pass breakup.

1996 (Junior)

Playing in nine games, Benes recorded two tackles (one solo) on the year. His first tackle came against Kansas and his solo tackle came against Colorado State.

1995 (Sophomore)

Benes played in four games and had one pass breakup.

1994 (Freshman)

Benes did not see any game action his freshman year.

1993 (Redshirt)

Benes redshirted as a walk-on his first year in Lincoln.

Raymond-Central High School

Benes played running back and linebacker for Raymond-Central and earned honorable-mention all-state honors as a fullback. He also lettered in basketball and track and made the state finals in the 110 high hurdles as a senior. He was a four-year academic letterman and student body president.

Personal

The son of the late Marion Benes and Alice Pecka, Jason was born Feb. 21, 1975.
