Career

Quint Hogrefe played in 15 games throughout his four-year career and recorded four tackles (one solo) He graduated from Nebraska as a member of all three national championship teams in the 1990's.

1998 (Senior)

Hogrefe entered his senior year as a backup Sam linebacker. He appeared in two games and recorded one assisted tackle.

1997 (Junior)

Hogrefe played in four games as the backup to Brian Shaw and Tony Ortiz at Sam linebacker. Hogrefe recorded three tackles, including one solo stop. He earned honorable-mention academic All-Big 12 honors and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Semester Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year.

1996 (Sophomore)

Hogrefe played in five games as a backup Sam linebacker in 1996. He earned his first letter but did not have any tackles. Hogrefe earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Semester Academic Honor Roll.

1995 (Freshman)

As a redshirt freshman, Hogrefe saw limited action in four games.

1994 (Redshirt)

A walk-on athlete, Hogrefe redshirted his first year in Lincoln.

Auburn High School

Hogrefe played running back and linebacker for Coach Dick Strittmatter at Auburn and helped his team to the state playoffs his junior and senior years. He amassed more than 3,000 yards rushing and 500 tackles while maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. He earned all-state honors his junior and senior seasons. He also lettered three times in basketball and once in track. He was a high school teammate of Chad Kelsay.

Personal

The son of Robert and Susan Hogrefe, Quint was born on Aug. 26, 1975. Quint majored in business administration and earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 1998. At the 1996 and 1997 University of Nebraska Honors Convocation, Hogrefe received a "High Scholar" award for posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.6 or higher (3.9).
